A Rolling Backyard Party
Imagine a place where you and your friends can kick back, get great truck food, and all the local brew you can swill—all while soaking up the good vibes of the Arkansas outdoors. Now, imagine you didn’t have to go much further than your backyard. Try our backyard, down by the railroad tracks.
A new urban beer garden coming to East Village, Summer 2018.
Welcome to Our Backyard Party.
First, there was the river, then the railways. When roads and airports joined the fray they all came together where Little Rock’s East Village was born.
Now three Little Rock women are building The Rail Yard, home to the most recent, and most delectable, transport system in town: food trucks. Cozying up to the rails on East 6th Street, the old-time shortcut to the city’s first airport terminal at “Adams Field,” The Rail Yard will play host to a rotating cast of popular central Arkansas food trucks, and serve as the permanent home of Count Porkula BBQ, purveyor and caterer of fine smoked meats, arrayed around an urban beer garden featuring a wide selection of craft beers, wine, and specialty cocktails.
The Rail Yard is a family affair. After a trip to the Texas Truck Yard in Dallas, the lightbulb went off for sisters-in-law Murry and Linda Newbern, and their aunt, Virginia Young. It was time to create a rolling backyard party for Little Rock.
“We want The Rail Yard to be a great place to hang out and have a ball with friends and family,” said Linda Newbern. “Bring Lassie, too, and slip her a chunk of Count Porkula’s awesome barbecue if you can bring yourself to spare it.”
